Project Brief

The use of drones have been rapidly growing to vast applications over the years. Valqari is the only drone delivery solution to provide a secure and convenient landing space for both drone and traditional delivery.

 

Our team was tasked to design the first commercial-grade smart drone mailbox that can send and receive packages, emphasize capacity, ease of use, and minimal power output. become a standard in the Iowa Drone Distribution Network.

Mailbox Requirements

Concept Generation

The team generated ideas by using the lotus blossom method before developing concept sketches to apply from the ideas. 

Mailbox Features

The drone delivery mailbox has a fully automated system with modular layers that will allow customers to send and receive packages by using an UI system.  It can store a variety of shapes and sizes and more packages can be store by adding more layers underground. 

Mechanical Arms Features

The drone delivery mailbox has a fully automated system that will have mechanical arms that will be able to grab and transport mail packages from the entrance to the storage area. I designed the mechanical arms and gears system in Solidworks, and utilized ANSYS to conduct simulations and Keyshot for the renderings of the assemblies.

The interior of the drone delivery system, and UX design interface are part of a non-disclosure agreement that serves as a legally binding contract that establishes a confidential relationship with Valqari.
